MONROE TOWNSHIP - THELMA J. FISCHMAN OVENTHAL died on Monday April 10, 2017, at The Elms, Cranbury. She was 84.

Born in Manhattan, NY, she resided in Rockland County, NY, before moving to Monroe Township.

Mrs. Oventhal was an Elementary School Teacher for the Ramapo School District - Hillcrest Elementary.

She was predeceased by her husband, Seymour, in 2005.

Surviving are her 2 daughters, Joanne Oventhal of Mahwah, and Andrea Savitch and her husband, Neil, of Dumfries, VA; a brother, Leonard Fischman, of Manhattan, NY, and four grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, Rachel and Melanie.

A chapel service will be held on Thursday, April 13th, 10:15 AM, at MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, 454 Cranbury Road at Evergreen Boulevard, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ. For directions to the funeral home please scroll to the bottom left of the screen.

A truly remarkable woman. Memories of her working on bulletin boards for the coming school year while sitting at the pool in Monsey. She was an inspiration and one of my husband's (Harold Rachbuch) favorite people. May she rest in peace. Barbara Rachbuch
