MONROE TOWNSHIP - STANLEY ROSENBAUM, 90, beloved husband of the late Eleanor Rosenbaum; adored father of Jeffrey (Kathleen) Rosenbaum and Roberta (Charm) Chee; and loving grandfather of Christopher (Gail Sweeny), Daniel (Carla), and Jacqueline Rosenbaum, Cassandra and Ethan Chee, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, April 7, 2018, four years to the day after the passing of the love of his life.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on November 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Ethel and George Rosenbaum and brother of the late Harold Rosenbaum. Stanley was a much loved brother in-law and uncle. Stanley and Eleanor were married in June 1955 and settled in Brooklyn before moving to Monroe Township in 1996.
He was an accountant in private practice and retired in December 2017. Stanley was admired and appreciated by all of his clients. He loved watching baseball, playing golf and was a bowling aficionado. An accomplished bowler, he participated in numerous leagues and represented his residential community several times in the local Senior Olympics.
Stanley was kind, loving, intelligent, strong, generous, and "always available" to anyone in need. The special joy in his life was the involvement in the lives of his five grandchildren, whom he adored. Whether it was baseball, basketball, soccer, dance recitals, graduations, or school plays, no grandchild's activity was too far to attend; together, Stanley and Eleanor put their children, grandchildren, relatives and friends ahead of themselves.
Stanley enjoyed traveling to far off places with Eleanor, attending concerts, plays and symphonies with friends and playing cards with the "guys". Stanley was one of the most caring and wonderful husband, dad and grandfather a person could ask for. We are truly blessed to have been loved and guided by such a fine man. Throughout his illness, he was strong and fought to live another day, conversing with family and friends, watching his NY Mets and talking baseball. We cannot imagine life without him and take comfort knowing he is finally at peace and no longer in pain.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 9th, at 1:00 PM, at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick. For directions to the cemetery, please see the "Services" page.
