MONROE TOWNSHIP - WILLIAM GERBER passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 95.
Born in Newark, he resided in Union for 35 years before moving to Monroe Township 25 years ago.
Prior to retiring in 1994, he was a Civil Engineer with Severud Associates, Manhattan, NY, where he worked for over 30 years.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving with the Engineers Brigade during the Battle of the Bulge.
While living in Monroe Township, he utilized his engineering expertise through participation in the planning and zoning committees. He enjoyed the opera, symphonies, travel, golf, and playing cards.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rhoda, in 2016.
Surviving are his two daughters, Mindy Gerber, and her partner, Michael Goyette, of South Plainfield, and Lori Lustbader, and her husband Ron, of Livingston, and five grandchildren, Paige, and her husband, Jeff, Zachary, Wyatt, Beckett, and Delaney.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019, at 12:45 PM, at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick. For directions, please visit the "Services" page.
