NEW PALTZ, NY - MAUD (BLANKET) ARATOWSKY passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Health Alliance - Broadway Campus, Kingston, NY. She was 92.
Born in Paris, France, she resided there until emigrating to New York City, where she worked as an Editor for the United Nations. She settled down in New Paltz, New York, after her marriage to Bernard, a professor at SUNY New Paltz, who predeceased her in 1986. She retired from the UN in 1988.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Evelyn Kleman of Elizabeth, NJ; her nephew, Scott Nagrod and his wife, Kerrie, Plainsboro, NJ; her niece, Caryn Loza and husband, Eugene, also of Elizabeth, NJ. She is also survived by her cousins, Manny Blankett and Russel Talbot of London UK, Vivian Kriss of Denmark and Phyllis Smoller of Chicago, IL, as well as many wonderful family, friends and neighbors who loved and cared for her in her later years.
