MANALAPAN - LORA RACHEL BARRY SPEISER GOLDBERG, 70, of Manalapan, New Jersey, passed away on May 13, 2023. She was born to parents Nathan and Lillian Barry on December 2, 1952 in Paterson, New Jersey.

She graduated from Dumont High School in 1970.

She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science from New York University and a Master of Social Work from Yeshiva University.

Lora worked as a social worker for over 40 years in various capacities, serving mostly in hospice with multiple companies. She also led her own private counseling practice as well as working as a counselor at other practices. In 2010, Lora was honored as Hospice Social Worker of the Year for her leadership on a Hospice Care Team.

Lora was an active member of the Jewish communities in the places she lived, most recently at Freehold Jewish Center, serving at one point on the board. She enjoyed hosting family and friends for holidays and special occasions, and she had a love for Judaism, flowers, art, the beach and seashells.

Lora is survived by her husband Michael; her son Benjamin and his wife, Allison; her daughters Darrah and her husband, Miguel, and Carrie; her son David and his wife, Amanda; her brothers Evan and Eliot and his wife, Alison; her step-sons Zachary and his wife, Lauren, and Stephen and his wife, Nicole; and grandchildren Aaliyah, Ami, Tziona, Moshe, Tzemach, Noam, Ari, Noah, Jacob, Sophie, Grady, Karter, Mya, and Gia.

She was predeceased by her father Nathan and mother Lillian.

A temple service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 9:45 am at the Freehold Jewish Center at 59 Broad Street, Freehold 07728, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick.
