Beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Bernice Helene Cohen, 75, of Monroe Township, New Jersey, passed away on May 17, 2023. She was born to parents Tillie and Samuel Packman on September 28, 1947 in New York.

Bernice graduated from Midwood High School and went on to obtain a degree from Brooklyn College. She had an excellent aesthetic sense and later completed a degree from Parsons School of Design.

Bernice was an excellent homemaker dedicated to raising her children. She and her family were part of the Temple B'nai Shalom community in East Brunswick, New Jersey. As an adult, she pursued Jewish studies and received her Bat Mitzvah.

Once her children were grown, she worked for the Old Bridge Board of Education for a decade. She enjoyed staying fit with exercise and long walks, playing word games, and she loved spending time with family and friends for holidays and special occasions.

She was predeceased by her loving parents Tillie and Samuel and her beloved husband Solomon Cohen.

Bernice is survived by her daughter, Remi and her husband, John; her son, Seth and his wife, Rhiannon; her granddaughter, Ariahna and sister, Phyllis Kominik and her family.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 1:00PM at the Floral Park Cemetery, Monmouth Junction, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick. For directions, please visit our "Services" page.
