MONROE TOWNSHIP - DOROTHY L. GROSS passed away peacefully at her residence in Monroe Township. She was 92 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Harry and Anna (née Liebman) Leon, she lived there while growing up before moving to Queens in early adulthood and lived in Woodside for 35 years. She then moved to Monroe Township, New Jersey for the last 25 years.
Dorothy worked for several companies in the garment district in NY; the last was with Isabella, an international clothing manufacturer, until she was 85 years old.
She was a volunteer with the Lighthouse Guild, reading for the blind. She was also Treasurer for the Brandeis National Committee in the Middlesex Chapter, and also volunteered to read at the Middlesex Juvenile Detention Center.
She is predeceased by her husband, Fred Gross, who passed in 2008.
Surviving are her son, Jonathan Gross and his wife, Carol, of Westfield; her daughter, Edie Lewis and her husband, Marvin, of Phoenix, AZ; her grandchildren, Emily Gross, Amanda Bates and her husband, Kyle, and Rachel Katz and her husband, Steven; and her great-grandson, Asher Bates.
Services were entrusted to MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, East Brunswick.
