MONROE TOWNSHIP - RICHARD BLAKE passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at his residence. He was 76 years old.
Born in Newark, to Harold and Shirley (née Gilbert) Blake, he grew up in Westfield and resided in North Plainfield for a little while before settling down in Monroe Township for 40 years.
Richard graduated from Bryant College in 1969 where he studied Marketing. He also backpacked around Europe visiting several countries and worked on a kibbutz for a year.
Prior to retiring in 2017, he was a sales manager for Halsted Corporation in Cranbury where he worked for about 35 years.
In his leisure time, Richard loved listening to oldies and country music, fishing, scuba diving, boating, driving his 2017 Corvette and SQ5 Audi and spending time with his family. He was also a big-time animal lover and enjoyed tending to his dogs, fresh water aquariums and koi pond.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Roberta (Bobbie) Blake; his son, Joshua Blake and his wife, Stacy, of East Windsor; his brother, Dennis Blake and his wife, Terry, of Westwood; his sister-in-law, Dale, of Texas; his nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Matthew, Becky, Robbie and Kevin; his grandchildren, Olivia, Lyla, Summer and Lincoln and his dog, Cooper.
A chapel service will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 9:45 am, at MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. For directions, please visit our "Services" page.
