MANALAPAN-HARRIET BERNICE SCHWARTZ (née Warshaw) passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at CentraState Hospital in Freehold. She was 97 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Jack and Rose (née Goldstein) Warshaw, she resided there and Monroe Township, NJ before settling down in Manalapan, NJ a few months ago.

Prior to retiring, she was a tax preparer for H&R BLOCK, where she worked for more than 25 years.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, engaging in political discourse, and at the age of 97, she enjoying shopping, especially pushing the cart and making her own choices.

Harriet was predeceased by her husband, Murray Schwartz in 2012.

Surviving are her son, Steven Schwartz and his wife, Wendy Gardner, of Manalapan; her daughters, Eileen Beirne of Kingston, Nancy Schwartz of New York; her sister, Beverly Weissman of Somers, NY; her five grandchildren, Desmond (Caitlin Shein) Beirne, Colin (Stella) Beirne, Sara (Dimitri) Akhrin, Alexa (Evan Holtz) Schwartz, Victoria Jew, and three great-grandchildren, Dylan Akhrin, Daniel Akhrin, and Bradley Akhrin.

A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 10:15 am, at MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery, South Brunswick. For directions, please visit our "Services" page.
